Manual unblocks don&#8217;t remove them from the table. In this chapter you&#8217;ll learn to read the list of blocked IPs WordPress keeps, and to use the \u201cUnblock\u201d button. No blocks are added here: for that you need the General tab.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cisilino.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/manuale-csdn-ip-bloccati.webp\" alt=\"Diagram of WordPress with the Blocked IPs tab of the plugin CSDN: table of blocked IPs WordPress\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\"\/><\/figure>\n<h2>Where it is<\/h2>\n<p>In the side menu open <strong>Settings &gt; Cisilino Site Defense Network<\/strong> (point 1 in the image) and choose the <strong>Blocked IPs<\/strong> tab (point 2). There&#8217;s a single section, \u201cBlocked IPs\u201d (point 3), described as: \u201cA unified view of every IP currently blocked on this site, whatever the source.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Above the tabs, in the page header, you&#8217;ll also see three counters: \u201cIPs blocked locally\u201d, \u201cIPs received from the panel\u201d and \u201cIPs from the optional security list\u201d. Manual overrides are not counted there.<\/p>\n<h2>What it&#8217;s for<\/h2>\n<p>It tells you who is blocked, why, and for how long. Each address can have three sources:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>local<\/strong>: the IP exceeded the failed-login threshold.<\/li>\n<li><strong>panel<\/strong>: the IP is in the list received from the panel.<\/li>\n<li><strong>manual<\/strong>: you blocked it yourself with an override.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A row can carry several sources together, separated by a comma.<\/p>\n<h2>How to read the blocked IPs WordPress table<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Look at the table. The columns are \u201cIP\u201d, \u201cSource\u201d, \u201cAttempts\u201d and \u201cLast seen\u201d, plus the action button.<\/li>\n<li>To search for an address, type into the \u201cFilter by IP or source\u2026\u201d field. For example, <code>panel<\/code> shows only the IPs coming from the panel.<\/li>\n<li>To free an IP, press \u201cUnblock\u201d on its row.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll go back to the General tab and read \u201cOverride saved and .htaccess updated.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If there&#8217;s no block at all, the table says \u201cNo IP currently blocked.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>What the columns mean<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAttempts\u201d and \u201cLast seen\u201d only have a value for IPs with a local block. For the others you&#8217;ll see \u201c\u2014\u201d. The date uses the site&#8217;s time zone, in the format <code>29\/10\/2026 14:30<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>The filter works in the browser, with no calls to the server. If the field isn&#8217;t empty a counter shows how many rows are visible out of the total.<\/li>\n<li>Panel IPs are shown without the part after the slash. A network such as <code>198.51.100.0\/24<\/code> therefore appears as <code>198.51.100.0<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>The ban reason and its expiry, when they come from the panel, are not shown in the table.<\/li>\n<li>The table is sorted alphabetically as text, not numerically: <code>10.0.0.1<\/code> comes before <code>9.0.0.1<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Manual overrides only appear if they are of the ban type and have not expired.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Default values and limits<\/h2>\n<p>The table is a snapshot of the three sources, not of the final effect: an IP already unblocked with \u201cUnblock\u201d stays listed for as long as its source exists (a local block stays forever). To know whether it&#8217;s actually free, look at the overrides table in the General tab. The \u201cUnblock\u201d button has no options: it creates a permanent \u201cAlways unblock (unban)\u201d override for that IP. If there was already a manual ban on the same address, the unban replaces it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warning:<\/strong> \u201cUnblock\u201d asks for no confirmation. The action fires the instant you click. Check you&#8217;ve clicked the right row, because a row showing a panel network, for example <code>198.51.100.0<\/code>, frees the entire network.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warning:<\/strong> the \u201cSecurity level\u201d lists (Noob, Casual, Berserk) don&#8217;t appear in this table, even though they are applied. An address blocked by those lists is invisible here. You can still neutralise it with an unban override from the General tab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warning:<\/strong> blocking only works with Apache or LiteSpeed, and with a writable <code>.htaccess<\/code>. If that isn&#8217;t the case, the table still shows the IPs, but the server doesn&#8217;t stop them. Behind a proxy or a CDN the plugin reads <code>REMOTE_ADDR<\/code>, so it can see the proxy&#8217;s address rather than the visitor&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<h2>What happens behind the scenes<\/h2>\n<p>The blocked IPs WordPress shows in the table come from three sources: IPs with a local block, those received from the panel every 15 minutes, and manual bans. The plugin writes the result to the <code>.htaccess<\/code> file, between the lines <code># BEGIN Cisilino Site Defense Network<\/code> and <code># END Cisilino Site Defense Network<\/code>. A blocked IP receives a 403 across the whole site, even on <code>wp-login.php<\/code>.<\/p>\n<p>In the .htaccess file the unblock always wins: an unban removes from the union the entry matching the address, whatever its source was. A panel network only leaves by unblocking the address shown in the table, not an IP inside that network. This applies only to this site. The panel doesn&#8217;t know about it and, at the next sync, may still include the address, but the local filter discards it.<\/p>\n<p>Remember how blocks end:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The local block doesn&#8217;t expire on its own. It is removed only with \u201cUnblock\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>The panel block disappears once the panel stops sending it.<\/li>\n<li>The manual block expires after the chosen duration, or when you press \u201cRemove\u201d in the General tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Example: unblocking 203.0.113.5<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the \u201cBlocked IPs\u201d tab and type <code>203.0.113.5<\/code> into the filter.<\/li>\n<li>Press \u201cUnblock\u201d on the row.<\/li>\n<li>In the General tab, under \u201cLocal IP overrides\u201d, you&#8217;ll find a row with \u201cAlways unblock\u201d and an expiry of \u201cPermanent\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To undo the unblock, press \u201cRemove\u201d on that row. If the original source still exists, the IP will be blocked again right away.<\/p>\n<h2>If something goes wrong<\/h2>\n<p>With blocked IPs WordPress, doubts almost always come from the duration. Did you unblock an IP, and it came back? A timed unban, once expired, restores the block if the source still exists. To free a local block for good, use the permanent unban, meaning \u201cUnblock\u201d itself.
